Nissan is working with Powerstream (an Ontario based electricity utility) to pilot and test the perfect combination. Nissan's electric Leaf, with a 24 kWh lithium battery, is demonstrating how this car can supply an average Canadian house with enough electricity for an entire day. All of a sudden, when you add solar panels to your rooftop, you've got electricity when the sun doesn't shine. Solar can power the world by sitting on your rooftop and charging your electric vehicle. Combined you get emissions free transportation and home energy that will cost you less to operate over the lifespan of the systems with anticipated increases in non-renewable energy energy sources like oil that are being depleted.
